Why fit?

In early 2013 when we purchased our first Model S development vehicle we immediately saw the need for adjustable rear camber as the Model S & Model X suspension geometry tends to have excessive rear camber for road use. This combined with the vehicle’s heavy curb weight and expensive 21″ performance tyres can lead to excessive and expensive tyre wear.

How do these arms help? On these cars, it's essential to be able to manage the (notorious) rear tyre wear by allowing careful alignment of rear camber angles – extra important if the car is lowered, or even just running in a lower factory suspension setting. Meanwhile, enthusiastic drivers depend on optimisation of camber for handling dynamics, with adjustable camber helping to improve steering response and rear-end grip in a variety of performance driving environments.

As an additionally factor to consider, as a Tesla reaches higher mileages, the rubber bushings in these arms lose elasticity and sag, further increasing negative camber. This can often be visible to the naked eye on an older higher mileage model.

It’s not uncommon for the rear tyres to wear out prematurely, in the worst cases in just 10,000 miles, with the steel belts becoming visible on the inner shoulder. This is not only a safety concern but also a frustrating expense for owners who frequently need to replace costly tyres. Yet, with almost no adjustability in the factory components, this is where so many owners choose to turn to aftermarket parts as the only way to find a resolution.

It’s this limitation that prompted the creation of our adjustable camber arms for the Tesla Model S and X. They enable you to re-set the right amount of negative camber to correct inner tyre wear while maintaining traction and cornering grip. The Tesla Model S and X vehicles equipped with factory air suspension, have a lot of natural camber in the rear. Some of this can be dialled out by aligning the car on “very low,” but to achieve the most neutral camber and best tyre longevity an adjustable rear arm is required. Having adjustable rear camber allows greatly improved tyre longevity by correcting rear camber settings. These allow a return to factory rear camber alignment settings, even on lowered cars.

No, we don't provide a fitting service. All Unplugged Performance parts are designed and manufactured in a way that any competent professional can install our parts on your Tesla - just the same as on any ICE car.

How long will it take to get my orders?

It depends on where you are. Orders for the UK will be processed immediately and typically take 5-7 business days to arrive.

Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.

However, if a product shows as being unavailable from UK stock, we will need to source from the Unplugged Performance USA team in California. In this case we will let you know the expected delivery times as soon as possible.
